About My Practice
I am a psychoanalyst in private practice in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area, where I work with adults in psychoanalytic and psychodynamic psychotherapy. My work is grounded in the belief that emotional difficulties often have meanings that are not immediately apparent, and that lasting change develops through careful attention to one’s inner experience over time.
People come to therapy with a wide range of concerns. Some feel caught in recurring relational patterns, while others struggle with anxiety, depression, or a persistent sense of dissatisfaction that is difficult to explain. Psychoanalytic work offers a setting in which these experiences can be explored thoughtfully and without pressure toward quick solutions.
Training and Professional Background
I have completed advanced training in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and remain actively engaged in ongoing study and consultation within the psychoanalytic community. My clinical work is informed by contemporary psychoanalytic thinking, as well as by sustained attention to each person’s individual history, relationships, and emotional life.
In addition to my private practice, I provide supervision and consultation to clinicians seeking to deepen their psychodynamic and psychoanalytic clinical work. I have also been involved in teaching and consultation with clinicians in training, which continues to shape and deepen my clinical perspective.
I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and my Masters of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of St. Thomas. I have completed more than 10 years of intensive post-graduate training in psychoanalysis through the Minnesota Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and the Chicago Center for Psychoanalysis.
My Way of Working
In the consulting room, I aim to offer a thoughtful, steady, and engaged presence. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is not oriented toward advice or predetermined solutions. Instead, it creates space for reflection, curiosity, and the gradual emergence of understanding.
As patterns and feelings unfold within the work, they can be recognized and understood in new ways, allowing for greater flexibility and freedom in how one lives and relates to others.
Location and Practice
My office is located in the Twin Cities, and I see adults and couples for in-person psychotherapy in the Minneapolis–St. Paul area. Remote sessions may also be available when appropriate.
